FLW Fallingwater Project

In September 2020, I took part in a one-day residency at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater in Bear Run, PA. The year following, I worked with the Fallingwater team and The Creative Business Accelerator to create an exclusive line of work for the Fallingwater museum store. I’m excited to announce that starting in September 2021 my works are available to purchase! Find out more about the project here.

The 2021 Fallingwater Collection is an exclusive collection of stoneware vases celebrating the convergence of architectural excellence and natural beauty of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater. These one-of-a-kind, hand-built vases are made from stoneware slabs and glazed in a palette reflecting the Fallingwater property in autumn. From the Moche stirrup vessels in the guest house and the large, spouted bowl in the living room to the Peter Voulkos sculpture placed poolside and the Pre-Columbian terracotta figurines scattered throughout, the ceramic works on the property are a constant inspiration. In this exclusive series of vases, textures, lines, shapes, forms, spaces, and colors all come together to commemorate my late September visit to Fallingwater. Below are some of my concept sketches that give a glimpse into my creative process and a video explaining the process behind my work and a bit of history about me as a maker (you can skip to the 17:55 mark for my 10 minute portion). Thanks for looking!
